Akkam’s Razor

Just as in each of the last 5-years, immediately prior to the Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks, some guy dressed like Osama Bin Laden comes out of the ground.  This guy releases more video than Tu-Pac and Biggie combined. 

If he sees his shadow, we are guaranteed another Friedman-Unit of War.  Pay no attention to the Black-Beard or the suspicious freezes in the video.  I also find the video interesting, as the President does, specifically as it so perfectly straddles the Conservative talking points of the day.

In other news General Betray-us will mount Capitol Hill, telling us to ignore our lying eyes and telling both us and the legislature that the surge is working, and to give them six more months, despite the VERY clear will of the people to do the opposite.

What has escaped notice is that the "Long War" is going exactly as planned.  The goal posts have been moved away from total withdrawal to redeployment to rear-bases where counter-insurgency operations can be staged INDEFINITELY, in the Korea-style occupation imagined by the President.  You know, those same long term bases that Congress was adamantly against.

At the same time, the spears are being sharpened for Iran, just as Lord Cheney had ordered.  Add to that the news that we're building a base on the border with Iran, the better to continue poking them with a very sharp stick. 

All along, we're hearing about little Maddy McCann, Steve Foster, and Brittney Spears, whilst Rome burns.

Ah, Democracy.
