Disney/ABC could not have possibly failed to see this coming…
For the non-initiated, here's the summary:
Hard right conservative creative team takes the "Official 9/11 Commission" report, paid consultation from Commission head Tom Kean (former Governor of New Jersey, father of NJ candidate Tom Kean, Jr), and with funding from Walt Disney and ABC go out and create an exploitative work of fiction. The best part of all – entire parts of it are totally fabricated, to the benefit of a certain political ideology who is facing a tough election year and low approval ratings.
Kean has been a bit too busy to deal with the controversy. Via Thinkprogress:
Asked if he had apologized to Clinton for inaccuracies in the movie, Kean quipped, “No, he was out campaigning against my son yesterday, so I didn’t reach out to him at all!”
The Poorman Institute has some storyboards here. Cliffnotes?

Some of the more disturbing events?
- All of the conservative blabbermouts (led by Rush Limbaugh, who said "ditto!") have seen it, but none of the progressive or liberal pundits.
- The two-parter is being promoted as fact.
- Sandy Berger, Madeline Albright, and President Bill Clinton, victims of one of the fictionalized scenes, have been denied screener copies.
- Scholastic Academic Publishing?
- Too Soon?
- Backers?
- Tie-Ins?
- Bush being interviewed on the 11th on ABCNEWS by Charlie Gibson?
What's the awesomest here is what the likely outcome will be – "Facts have a known liberal bias."
What will happen is there will have to be a public discussion about what is known about 9/11, and the gaming of the public. 43% of Americans still think Saddam had something to do with 9/11. They eat their Hungry Man dinner, and feed there head with whatever the TV gives them, right or wrong.
This discussion, of truth and non-truth, will be unescapable. his is just another incident of "them" thinking "the people" are as dumb as they hope we are.
