Christmas Movies

It is my personal opinion that some actors do Christmas movies, no matter how awful, just because it guarantees a constant source of revenue and residuals, either due to holiday DVD sales or annual broadcasts on broadcast or cable TV.

“Live Free or Die Hard”.

I've always liked Bruce Willis.  The kid from New Jersey charmed his way into my heart while I was in grade school with Moonlighting (I was very mature for my age).  From their, he progressed into the modern incarnation of Detective John McClane in Die Hard and it's sequels.  He layed the tragic anti-hero in the no-happy-ending Twelve Monkeys, the Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Pulp Fiction, and future AMC classic Armageddon.  Aside from some questionable films like the Look Who's Talking and the * Ten Yards franchises, he's had a great career.

Boing Boing: Hollywood after the Anal. Hole again

"Hollywood has fielded a shockingly ambitious piece of ‘Analog Hole’ legislation while everyone was out partying in costume. Under a new proposed Analog Hole bill, it will be illegal to make anything capable of digitizing video unless it either has all its outputs approved by the Hollywood studios, or is closed-source, proprietary and tamper-resistant. The idea is to make it impossible to create an MPEG from a video signal unless Hollywood approves it."
