NFL Super Bowl Terms-of-Service Nullification

There’s a concept in the law known as “jury nullification” [wiki], where a jurist or jury can ignore the judges orders, precedence, or sentencing guidelines in an attempt to write a grievious societal wrong.   During tonight’s Superbowl broadcast, you are likely to experience something similar.

The NFL has a history of being aggressive in asserting their rights over intellectual property, from going after churches to asserting that they own the rights to “Who Dat!”.

Joe Lieberman was for the Medicare buy-in (TWICE!) before he was against it.

  • Extend Google Talk Into A Remote Access Tool With GBridge | MakeUseOf.com – GBridge uses what they call a ‘Revolutionary VPN Infrastructure’ to extend Google’s GTalk into a secure collaboration tool. Once the product is installed (Windows Only), it simply asks for your Google Talk account and automatically displays the rest of your GTalk friends that may or may not have the product installed. If they do have it installed, you may collaborate with them, using each of the tools I am going to describe below. This is all done with a simple install, and no firewall configuration.

Buchanan on Obama and Race

A friend had pointed me to a Pat Buchanan screed entitled “A Brief for Whitey”, where Buchanan speaks from his inner bigot.

I’ll ignore Buchanan’s opening and focus on his “convictions, grievances, and demands” of the Silent Majority [note, this is quite the flexible metaphor for Buchanan, especially since he wrote it]:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.
