Dotnaught writes "The Federal Election Commission today issued an advisory opinion that finds the Fired Up network of blogs qualifies for the ‘press exemption’ to federal campaign finance laws. The press exemption, as defined by Congress, is meant to assure ‘the unfettered right of the newspapers, TV networks, and other media to cover and comment on political campaigns.’ The full ruling is available at the FEC site. A noteworthy passage: ‘…an entity otherwise eligible for the press exception would not lose its eligibility merely because of a lack of objectivity…’"

DelcoDems Continue to Disappoint Me

This MUST stop.  The only reason that we have one-party rule in this county (and in individual boroughs and school boards) is because the party, on a county and to a lesser extent, state level fails to provide compelling alternatives.  And it shows in the fundraising (via the DelcoTimes):

As always, the Republicans had a lot more cash to spend on literature, mailings, signs, sample ballots and Election Day "street money." They even ran short Cartisano/Whelan commercials on ESPN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable channels.

Monopolistic Automobile Repairs

One of the dity little secrets of new car dealers and their affiliated retail franchises is the stranglehold they put on shadetree and independent mechanics.

Those expensive code readers that dealers use are simply not available to independents - and the one’s that you can buy in stores are so watered down that many times you can’t effectively  diagnose the problem.

Well, some Congresscritters, as reported in LeftLaneNews are trying to remedy that, with a piece of legislation called the Right to Repair Act.  It’s quite admirable that the legislation has garned so much support in the legislature.  You can track the progress of the bill, HR 2048, here at Govtrack.us
