No wonder Obama was confused at the debate. The moderate Governor of the liberal state of Massachusetts showed up, not the “severe Conservative” Presidential candidate of 2012.
I truly think Romney is a pragmatic technocrat at heart. Normally, that would be an asset. But Romney – with this being his third time at the big show – will say and do just about anything to get elected. With the modern Republican base, that means being as hard right as possible. So don’t be fulled about all that moderate happy talk – at the end of the day the wingnuts are pulling the lever for their guy, and he knows he needs to deliver. That guy who said he wouldn’t cut taxes on the wealthy and soak the middle class, wouldn’t defund education, who’s walking back his comments on the 47%, and who states he wouldn’t explode the deficit to pay for tax cuts? Don’t buy it.
