GigaOm contributor Liz Shannon Miller documents her experience watching an AMC broadcast of Breaking Bad in conjunction with StorySync, a second screen (computer) companion to the broadcast that adds features like flashbacks, polls, and quizzes (and of course, advertisements).
One of the challenges of time- and place-shifting is that users don’t see advertisements as intended. This is an interesting way to recreate must-see TV (or appointment television) in an age of “I’ll see it later”.
