I am absolutely thrilled about the potential for a Ron Paul victory in Iowa. There are multiple benefits.
- Devalues the ridiculousness of the undemocratic caucus system which allows small, mono-culture states to dominate the early stages of elections.
- Hurts the small-government message by promoting a candidate with fringe views on the tyranny of pasteurized milk and seat belts.
- Has the potential for pointing out Dr. Paul’s affiliation with any variety of unsavory characters such as racists, nativists, and black-helicopter fearing militia.
- Further pushes the potential for a third-party candidate. Although a three-way race may result in Obama getting under 50% (resulting in claims of illegitimacy), a third-party or independent run clearly draws votes from the GOP front runner, which is good for Obama.
Given all of this – go RON PAUL 2012!!
