I am absolutely thrilled about the potential for a Ron Paul victory in Iowa.  There are multiple benefits.

1. Devalues the ridiculousness of the undemocratic caucus system which allows small, mono-culture states to dominate the early stages of elections.
2. Hurts the small-government message by promoting a candidate with fringe views on the tyranny of pasteurized milk and seat belts.
3. Has the potential for pointing out Dr. Paul’s affiliation with any variety of unsavory characters such as racists, nativists, and black-helicopter fearing militia.
4. Further pushes the potential for a third-party candidate.  Although a three-way race may result in Obama getting under 50% (resulting in claims of illegitimacy), a third-party or independent run clearly draws votes from the GOP front runner, which is good for Obama.
