I have a hard time defending former Bush press secretary Scotty ‘Flounder’ McClellan, especially given his prior performances:

That said, he appears to be the latest of the loyal Bushies troubled by their consciences after leaving the administration.  So far, the book has delivered observations on wartime propaganda, an apology to Richard Clarke, the revelation Bush outed CIA-operative Valerie Plame via Scooter Libby, the non-suprise that the Administration has allies within FOXNEWS, that Bush similarly declassified National Secrets to advance a political agenda, warnings to be serious and skeptical regarding administration claims on Iran, and (of course) that propaganda and a media operating somewhere between lazy, incompetent, and compliant directly enabled the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

The wingnut welfare recipients have dutifully begun their attacks, attacking McClellan’s motives, calling him a traitor, closet liberal, or simply disgruntled.

Predictably, a FOXNEWS White House surrogate Gretchen Carlson leaves the horse head in Scottie’s bed:

“Scott McClellan better not have any skeletons in his closet. I hope he didn’t do anything that he doesn’t want the world to know about because we all have, and all of his secrets are going to be coming out.”

See, Scotty is often rumored to have a touch of teh gay, and specifically very close with White House Press Corp member and former gay escort Jeff Gannon-cum-Jimmy Guckert - who frequently lobbed softballs at McClelland as well as being an overnight White House guest, who says the following (from RADAR via the Poorman):

The big question (which no Washington reporter has ever bothered to investigate) has always been: Who was Guckert’s very special White House friend who provided the gay blade with such remarkable access? Today, for the first time, Guckert offered an explanation.

“I can say without fear of contradiction, that I knew [ex White House press secretary] Scott [McClellan] better than any other White House correspondent or Washington reporter,” Guckert wrote on his blog.

That seems to solve several mysteries.

Interesting that Dictionary.com’s word of the day yesterday was schadenfreude.  This should be most interesting.
