Although we often complain of absent or bad leadership, we do not pay enough (or any) attention to bad followership.

At some point in the near future, some industries will state that the giving away of product 'for free', as in the open source movement, is in fact a violation of Fair-Trade practices and might be a form of price-fixing.

Globalization weakened local markets, strengthened export markets, and lowered both wages and prices.  A pending energy crisis will do the inverse.

The political press in the United States is a creature not obligated to give the people what they want; The press assumes that the people are incapable of understanding the truth.

Natural gas is significantly cheaper than oil because it cannot be easily and economically transported beyond the regional level, and therefore is not subject to currency arbitrage and less affected by speculation.

The political press is primarily obsessed with the preservation of the status quo.  Anything, be it politically, socially, culturally, or economically which threatens status quo that will be viewed as a disease and targeted for eradication.

The next problem to be identified, grappled with, and quantified will be the influence of individual people online - How many friends do they have on Facebook?  How many pictures have they posted?  How many have their friends posted?  How many web mentions in Google and Yahoo?  How many business contacts in LinkedIn?  How many recommendations?  How many people read and subscribe to their blogs?  How much is their attention worth, if we view them as the equivalent of a network?

Wow, “Bad Followership.” I’ll SUPER look forward to that article. That’s one of those WOW realizations. Nicely considered, man. Great stuff.
