Some in the conservative blogosphere are jeering the Democrats for dropping out of a planned debate moderated by FOXNEWS. Now, I don't know what the Dems were thinking, because Fair and Balanced™ does not mean presenting both sides of the story. In the lopsided worldview of conservatives, everyone is against them, and FOX is Fair and Balanced, since it provides (nearly exclusively) pro-Conservative viewpoints. This of course, leads people to perceive 50/50 splits on issues, as well as their only being two perspectives to a story (all of which, of course, are false).
Ever the diplomats, FOXNEWS said the following (via Politico):
A statement released Friday night from Fox Vice President David Rhodes said: "News organizations will want to think twice before getting involved in the Nevada Democratic Caucus, which appears to be controlled by radical fringe, out-of-state in interest groups, not the Nevada Democratic Party. In the past, MoveOn.org has said they 'own' the Democratic party. While most Democrats don't agree with that, it's clearly the case in Nevada."
Ignoring the numerous auditory distortion in any given week, how could any reasonable person determine that Democrats would have a fair debate (and broadcast) given screenshots like these?
