UFO Sightings?!?

January 4th, 2007 · No Comments

Interesting clusters of UFO sightings, and typical explanations…

At 8:15 AM EST (6:15 CST) there were objects seen falling from the sky over the midwest, as reported by 9News:

[It] appears to have been either space junk or a large meteor falling from north to south in the western part of the city. At this time, 9NEWS has not received any reports of personal injury or property damage.

9NEWS spoke with a representative at the Air Force Space Command who said they are analyzing the data and hope to have some official word early Thursday morning. They believe it could have been a meteor or space junk. The Air Force Space Command tracks space junk and all items entering the atmosphere.

Then there's the X-Files drama coming out of Chicago's O'Hare airport, where many reputable witnesses report seeing something, which the Feds initially denied then summarily dismissed. Compound that by dire-warnings from a former UK official, the promise that the French will release their UFO documentation, and the semi-annual prediction of the end of the world by the folks at the Church of the Subgenius.

There are other recent reports from Instanbul, South Africa (reportedly a "vehicle crash"), and a meteor crashing through the roof of a residence in New Jersey.

Alas, UFOMAPS (a Google Maps + data from the National UFO Reporting Center is only updated through October, 2006.
