One question that really gets me is "how has the internet changed your life?"  Wow, what a question!  The obvious jackass answer is to scream out PORN!, but that's not really the point, although the internet wouldn't be what it is today if not for it.  I think I'll start an open-ended list and add things as they occur to me…

  1. Saved me money when buying car(s) by using the pricing features at Edmunds.com.
  2. Helped me make better decisions when buying products (by reading rankings and reading reviews on sites like Amazon and NewEgg).
  3. Allowing me to better keep in touch with friends (I hate the telephone).
  4. The ability to reach out and find people that like the same things I do.
  5. The ability to form ad hoc communities with people like you.
  6. Discovery of new sites, audio, video, and many other things that I would never, ever get.
  7. Highlights the creativity of the individual, and how important it is (and is going to be).
  8. Allows groups of people to pool their resources to GET THINGS DONE.
  9. Sometimes save me time when doing things (putting together a grocery list, paying bills, looking up phone numbers), but mostly, doing things online, especially when learning about new things before making a decision on something takes MORE time.  However, I'm usually MORE engaged with the subject, and make better decisions because of it.
  10. ….

 What's your list look like?
