Real Measures of Risk.

September 11th, 2006 · No Comments

Markets are sometimes better measurers of risk than individuals. It's political suicide for the GOP to state that Global Warming is real - doing so threatens the cashflow in to run their campaigns.  But if you ignore politically connected rhetoric and look at the people who will be paying for it, like the insurance industry, and lo-and-behold, it's a real threat.

Well, similarly, the administration can't say that the days of cheap(ish) and readily available oil are over.  If anything, they say there's plenty of oil out there.  But, when you look at what investors have to say, the outcome isn't quite so rosy
