Akkam’s Razor

By all accounts, it appears that we will all be denied the vision of Karl Rove being frog-marched by the long arm of the law, as he has been informed by prosecutors that he will not be indicted.

Those on the left are understandably disappointed, but it might be a little premature to start planning an exodus or exile to some or more democratic country.  And while the right may be trumpeting this as an event to be celebrated (see the comments on ThinkProgress), I think they may want to contain their glee, as Dick Cheney's-Dick Cheney has not been indicted, and the testimony of Rove certainly does not reflect well on Scooter.

There are a myriad of possibilities here.  The information has come from Rove's lawyer, not the prosecutor.  Semantically speaking, based on press accounts, it appears Rove may have lied perjured had a faulty memory that was jogged only when some forgotten emails turned up that contradicted his previous story.  One way or another, passing on Rove means the solidification of the case against Libby or the possibility that it will open up to others.  There's minutia galore (see Firedoglake), which adds no value to the conversatin except speculation.

Really doesn't matter - at this point, indicting him is the same as as popping Bin Laden or Al-Zaqwari.  He's not the disease, he's a symptom.  Besides, at this point, who wouldn't pass on Rove for a chance to grab Cheney?
