Transparent and Accountable Government?!?!

April 26th, 2006 · No Comments

While reading up on the Snow Job, I came across this reference by Marc Ambinder on the Hotlineblog of the National Journal about new White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten:

BTW: Under the Bolten regime, expect to see far more X-point-plans and regular metric-tracking of said points.  Bolten is a metric fan.

Knowing that you can't improve what you cannot measure, I was intrigued.  The mechanism that allows this is the Metric Tracking System, via the Federal Interagency Database Online.  The system states that more than 50 agencies submit data online which is shared via XML and browsable via web browser.  Access is available to the Executive Office of the President, Congress, and the Public.

Updated:  More on Bolten's 5-point plan and it's manifestations here
