Akkam’s Razor

Rendell wisely vetoed the ID-required Voting Bill that the Republicans had previously passed.  Let’s get down to facts - the only way the Republicans can win the Governorship in November in Pennsylvania will be by suppressing the Democratic (ie. black people) vote wherever possible.

So, as per the course, the means we invoke the spirits of a traditional boogeyman, that of electoral fraud.  The theory is by forcing people to show identification to vote, then there can’t be any instances of double voting.

A side effect of this, as deduced by primitive Republican neocortexes, is that the largely criminal black (and lower economic whites and latinos) will be unable to vote.  If they override his veto, and this becomes law, expect there to be urban legends floating around, as there are nearly every electoral cycle, of police at polling places enforcing warrants and picking up deadbeat dads.  Honesty and purity aren’t prequisites for politics, and they shouldn’t be for voting.

In other news, I wonder how Republicans in the backwoods of Pennsultucky are going to vote - will they stay home or vote for Lynn Swann?
