Akkam’s Razor

As I watch the Sunday Morning Pundits spin their yarns, my mind keeps turning back to Bush’s Brain, Karl Rove. It seems quite possible that he may have slithered away from Jesuit-educated Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, most likely by throwing a limping Scooter Libby under the bus.

There’s a tendency in (left) Blogistan to automatically question any political action where Rove is involved as being the outcome of some shrewd and diabolical machination, hence Rove’s frequent allegory to Machivelli. This needs to stop. Now.

The power he has is power he’s given, by us. His reputation as being "the Architect" of the Mayberry Machivelli’s is nothing further from the truth. You don’t need to look any further than his own "affectionate" nickname from the Chimp-in-Chief, "Turdblossom".

Rove makes up a pile of shit, which is nothing more than fertilizer, uses it to his advantage, and a flower springs forth, which is admired in its beauty, distracting us from the bullshit that was required to make it grow. He’s a bullshit artist. Nothing more. And his arrogance and stupidity made this whole Plame business likely, and it appears that Libby and the Vice President’s Office will bare the brunt of the shitstorm, while once again Rove and Company slink away. How fitting that the neo-liberal intellectual conservatives are outdone by West Texas political thugs.

Given all of this, we need to start looking at Rove more as Tupaq and less like Keyser Sooze. To further dramatize this, 2paq’s been dead for a decade and has probably sold more albums since then when he was drawing air, which is frightening to know that Rove’s legacy may stretch longer than that of Dubya …"the evil that men do lives after them; the good are often interred with their bones"… but point is, he’s dead. And all we have left are remixes and rereleases.

The left, however, continues to treat him like a Keyser Sooze, the very mention of his same causing FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt). Oh, the stock markets down, there’s a terror alert, the hurricane relief is slow…maybe Rove did it? Remeber Hanlon’s Razor - never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately ascribed to stupidity. Rove doesn’t orchestrate these events, he simply spins them to his advantage… just like how stepping in dog shit is often regarded as good luck.
