When blogs attack! | MetaFilter

October 28th, 2005 · No Comments

The thinking internet is all over Forbes for their ridiculously short-sighted article about "the dangers of blogs". See JD Lasica and those he links to. Disclaimer: I have a free subscription to Forbes, and I’ve wanted to cancel it numerous times for their rampant stupidity, such as a story titled "The Joy of Tithing", but frankly, canceling isn’t worth the effort.

Let’s apply Akkam’s Razor here, shall we…how do you get the blogs talking about your product? And how much higher will Forbes’ Q-Rating go now that people are bitching them out. Face it, this is the annoying kid hoping for some attention, either good or bad. If you ignore them, they’ll go away. If you don’t, you reinforce this behavior and it’ll keep happening over-and-over again.

Never mind that, but they put the article behind their login…see bugmenot.
