Synchronicity across the blogosphere…

October 11th, 2005 · No Comments

It’s funny when you have a growing thought or notion that is subsequently reinforced by the internets.

These last couple of days, I’ve been thinking about whether or not I’d be happy right now if there was a Democratically controlled White House and Congress. I’d have to say no. The parties are the problem - and I’m not about to pick up where the current batch of Kool-Aid drinkers will leave off. Our binary political system IS the problem. Isn’t there some Third Way?

My mood is framed by this post and quote from BOPNEWS:

Why is this going to come to pass? Because about 65% of Americans are either conservative or reactionary. This political alliance will dominate until the day that it really does break down, leaving progressives to come in and fix a catastrophic meltdown of the economy. Civil rights, equality, mobility - kiss them all good bye, because only when they are taken away will progressives stop giving money to conservatives - who will take it and sell the progressives out for a bunch of clean coal plants and some jet fighter bases.

All across the internets, people are asking for inspiration, for leadership, for something else… I want to proudly assert that I am one of the 35% who is NOT conservative or reactionary.
