So lets see, the next potential travesty to afflict the “homeland” is the possible pandemic of the avian flu, otherwise known as H5N1. Concurrently, government [evil] geniouses are “recreating” a strain of Spanish Influenza, which history credits as having caused the deaths of some 50,000,000 people globally from 1917-1918 (see PBS documentary and homepage). And some research has suggested that the Spanish Flu is genetically similar to the modern avian flu.
Now for some totally unsubstantiated conjecture…the first documented case was one Albert Gilchell, an Army cook at a fort in Kansas. Shortly after he reported symptoms, 100 additional soldiers fell ill. The illness then swept across military bases, into densely populated areas, oversear along with the troops, and across the globe.
The “cook” aspect, along with the patterns of infection leads me to suspect the prominent use of canned food by the military as being a likely cause. Well, as best I can tell, there were no poulty product in World War One era rations. So there goes that theory.
