Akkam’s Razor

Plenty of rightwingers on the internets are upset that “chickenhawks” are getting called out for their non-support of the war, or more appropriately, their “support” via yellow ribbons and trunk magnets.

The point is, they can wrap themselves in the flag and claim they are “more patriotic” because the support the troops and back the president, but that’s the extent of the burden they are willing to pay.

Most importantly, the current generation of College Republicans is already practicing the mantras of Limbaugh (”I got an ingrown hair on my ass, so I’m 4F.”) or Cheney (”I got better things to do.”). My personal favorite is that they can do more here, protecting America by fighting the Great War on Terror Liberals.

What would happen if taxes were raised to offset the war expense? Betcha tunes would change. It’s always easier to sacrifice when someone else is paying the bill.
