Akkam’s Razor

Many print, radio, and online news sources are trying to balance the stories of Mother Sheehan and the Counter-Protest-Warriors. Even my own esteemed Delaware County Times balanced the stories on one page, with an approximate 2/3 and 1/3 share of print-page space devoted to each “side” of the story. Again, the problem with being fair and balanced and telling both sides to a story is that it implies parity. Simply put, with public opinion on the war trending 35/65 against Bush’s handling of the war, is it fair to equate 50 pro-war Bush supporters with a true grassroots effort like Camp Casey? Especially given this little bit over at Suzie’s Suburban Guerilla regarding a GOP astroturf group’s involvement in the counter-protest from Crooks and Liars?
