Philadelphia Movie Theaters

The Convention Center post got me all weeping-nostalgic for things that aren’t there anymore. You can visit Cinema Treasures, which allows you to search by keyword, city, or zipcode. There aren’t many photos, however. Who knew there was a drive-in theater down by the airport? Or Fishtown? Or Frankford and Allegheney? At Belgrade and Auburn? I knew about this one that later became a Burger King. And of course, the “Dirty” Devon, which I gather will rise again. This one later became a Rite Aid (or maybe an Eckerds?). The Trocadero still rocks hard, after a turn as a burlesque house. But I know for a fact that there are a couple that aren’t on here, that were on Richmond Street.
Never mind the Drive-Ins!!
