So what won the election? Terrorism? God, gays, and guns?

It sure as hell wasn’t fiscal conservatism!

There is a groundswell in the MSM and the blogosphere to refute claims that the envangelical “radical-fundamentalists” are to credit for Bush’s victory. I think that the military vote, fiscal conservatives, corporations, tax-reformers, libertarians, and the anti-terrorism folks are mighty upset with their valid claims of victory being overshadowed by the religious right.

The right and the “liberal media” are desperate to avoid demonizing and marganalizing the religious right. It will be interesting to see what will develop. I’m sure that they will demand that Bush invests some of his political capital (like religious subsidies in the form of faith-based inititatives). Don’t be suprised if that backfires. The radical fundamentalists are going to be so eager to trumpet their own victory that the un-affiliated Republicans are going to be distancing themselves so as to not alienate the moderate voters.
