What the left must do (or…How the Right’s Top-Down Structure is So Effective)

September 7th, 2004 · No Comments

I’ve seen a few articles lamenting the lack of focus and intensity of the Democratic Party, as opposed to that of the Republicans. Maybe its because Dems are the party of inclusion, maybe its to keep the message pure…I don’t know. But what I do know is this, the rabid conservative takes his daily marching orders from what is broadcast on talk radio, shown on Fox News, and posted on websites such as Drudge, Right Wing News, World Net Daily, and NewsMax.

The Democratic message is all over the place, with no concise message, no focus, no true goal. Its no wonder that its been so easy to paint our candidate as a flip-flopper.

Not only that, but the defeatist attitude, showing doubt, criticizing our candidate and his stances…you will NEVER hear the Bush camp do that.

When the race was/returns to a 50-50 split, a change of tense is all that is needed. Set Dubya and the crowd back on their heals. Make every piece of news and every triumph that they publicize into a desparate grab for votes. Set the tone of the campaign, show the Bush team as desparate, lacking new ideas, and running out of steam.

Both the campaign and the voters spend too much time defending the candidate and too little promoting (and or attacking the incumbent). The gloves are off. BRING. IT. ON.
